Position Title:
Associate Director Student Leadership & ActivitiesTime Type:
Full timePosition Summary and Qualifications:
The Associate Director (AD) of Student Leadership & Activities reports to the Director of Student Leadership & Activities. The AD oversees student related activities and functions including the student funding boards and registered student organizations on both the Hawk Hill (HH) and University City (UC) campuses and supports campus events to enhance student growth and development by providing social cultural recreational and educational opportunities for all students to engage with the campus and the community.Manage and support student organizations on the UC and HH campuses. Provide event planning support to students and promote the creation and development of new student organizations.
Advise the student funding boards on both campuses as well as the 150 student organizations on financial and operational policies and procedures.
Develop and execute training for all student organization leaders inclusive of funding guidelines university event planning guidelines risk management awareness hazing awareness Title IX diversity equity and inclusion programming and any relevant University policies.
Manage funding boards and individual student organization budgets; process all student organization-related financial transactions and processes; serve on the Student Activities Fee committee.
Select train and manage student worker staff for Campion and The Perch.
Co-coordinate the annual Student Life Awards nomination and selection process.
Work with Student Leadership & Activities staff and campus partners on large-scale campus events such as new student and transfer orientations Welcome Weekend and Welcome Week activities Family Day and Senior Week.

Act as a Data Security Steward to include:Responsible for the accuracy security and integrity of data within the area; Create and maintain a secure office environment to protect all information resources within your purview; Establish and enforce sound policies and procedures to manage the information resources assigned to you; May delegate responsibility to the Data Security Officer in order to assist with the day-to-day management of information; Serve in compliance with the Universitys Data Stewardship Policy statement.
The person who holds this position has been classified as a Campus SecurityAuthority under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy andCampus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).
Serve on University committees as appointed and prepare reports necessary to accomplish the goals of Student Leadership & Activities and the Division of Student Life.
Serve as a resource for students student organizations and advisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Masters degree
Minimum one to three years of related work experience; preferably in a university setting
Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as needed
Programming and event experience preferably with student organizations
Working knowledge of higher education policies such as FERPA Title IX Clery Act
Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to serve the needs of a culturally diverse student population
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on detail
Masters degree in higher education administration student leadership campus recreation or related field
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
The position may require long periods spent in front of a computer.
In addition weekend and after-hours work may be required.
