Our Mission Solutions Business Area (MSBA) at Leidos is seeking a Machinist to support a government contract in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ideal candidate will be able to provide technical support to the customers fabrication and manufacturing shops. The candidate must have demonstrated experience designing programming and manufacturing metal plastic and composite components.
This position works 100% in the office there is no ability for remote or hybrid work and there may be some business travel (approximately 10% of the time).

In this role you will:
- Design and machine custom pieces and parts
- Identify and implement strategic improvements and solutions that are in line with the customers vision and mission
- Create and manage schedules for prioritized approved work requirements
- Ensure industry and customer standards and best practices are followed for all requirements
- Provide detailed guidance on proper use general machine maintenance and minor repairs to shop equipment
- Oversee the management of consumables and procurement support
- Provide inputs on shop safety best practices and maintenance of the shop safety plan to include application of OSHA standards
Clearance Required:
- Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain polygraph level clearance
Required Experience Skills and Education:
- Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain polygraph is required. Preference will be given to candidates who already hold TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance.
- Bachelors degree and 10 years of experience in metal working discipline(s). Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical skills instruction
- Machine Certification from an apprentice program
- Demonstrated CAD/CAM experience
- Demonstrated ability to aid others in design and troubleshooting of mechanical component designs
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple taskings and adapt quickly to changing requirements
- Demonstrated experience working independently as well as part of a team including strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience and literacy with Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Experience Skills and Education:
- Demonstrated proficiency with FeatureCam
- Demonstrated knowledge of metal finishing processes to include anodizing painting and powder coating

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104650.00 - $189175.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
