THE ROLE: The NC Set-Up Operator will be required to set up and operate NC/CNC lathes and other metal machining equipment. Must be able to interpret instructions from route sheets and verbal communications to set up and operate numerically controlled machines to produce quality parts to meet specifications.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must be able to set up and operate without assistance a variety NC/CNC lathes to machine quality parts to meet specifications.
- Must be positive team contributor who works well with all team members.
- May be required to rotate to other job functions within the same labor grade as directed by their supervisor.
- Participate in training activities both on and off site
- Document and maintain required records.
- Work safely by following all safety policies procedures and actively participate in all site safety programs.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have the ability to use read and interpret tape measures Pi tapes squares protractors calipers special pipe & layout instruments and other measurement tools.
- Must be able to set-up CNC machines with proper tooling jaws and fixtures in a safe and timely manner.
- Ability to meet and maintain any tolerances required.
- Ability to use all types of measuring instruments and various hand tools.
- Must have the ability to train other operators in the N/C work center.
- Must maintain proper care of equipment and a neat and orderly work area.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed.
- Must maintain quality and quantity standards.
DAY IN THE LIFE:
In this role the working environment is both an indoor climate-controlled office and plant manufacturing environment. The physical demands may include but are not limited to occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds and prolonged exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.
SALARY:
The hourly pay range for this position is from a starting rate of $xxx to $xxxx At Xylem we offer a generous benefit package including Medical Dental Vision plans 401(k) with company contribution vacation pay based on years of service and eleven (11) paid holidays.
