Job Description
Job Description Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer
The engineer will lead the design and specification of transmission line projects ensuring compliance with client standards NERC/RRO regulations and environmental requirements. This role involves cross-department collaboration contractor oversight and project documentation while staying current with design technologies and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and manage transmission line projects including specs right-of-way and compliance documentation.

Oversee and coordinate with external consultants vendors surveyors and internal teams.

Ensure all designs adhere to safety NERC/RRO and RUS standards.

Research and implement new design techniques to improve performance and cost-efficiency.

Analyze system performance issues and recommend corrective actions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor technical staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Bachelors in Electrical Civil or Mechanical Engineering (required)

Masters in Engineering or Business (preferred)
-
PE license preferred or ability to obtain
Experience:
-
Minimum 8 years in transmission line design (experience withand 345 kV preferred)
Skills:

Strong communication and leadership skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams

Strong problem-solving decision-making and customer service orientation

Proficiency with technical tools and design software
