Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist - CVOR
Location: Salem VA
Schedule: Day Shifts (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with Rotating Weekends
CVOR Tech Pay Range: $27.36 - $38.30/hr (based on experience)
OR Tech Pay Range: $24.87 - $34.82/hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) to support cardiovascular procedures in a dynamic surgical environment. This role is essential to maintaining sterile technique supporting surgeons and ensuring the safety and efficiency of cardiovascular operations. Candidates must be licensed in Virginia and have completed an accredited surgical tech program. OR Techs with experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures by preparing instruments equipment and sterile field.
- Scrub in for C-sections and CVOR cases maintaining aseptic technique at all times.
- Support circulating nurses and surgical teams in the coordination of case setup and intraoperative needs.
- Perform pre and postoperative tasks including patient transport and equipment cleanup.
- Accurately document case activities and equipment usage.
- Maintain operating room readiness and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program (required unless grandfathered in by state)
- Registered Surgical Tech license in the State of Virginia required
- BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
- 1-2 years of surgical tech or hospital scrub experience preferred
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology effective communication and computer proficiency
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties involving bending squatting and standing for extended periods
