Job Description

Job Title: Education Support Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable health educator to provide comprehensive sexual health education to a cohort of male students. The ideal candidate will have experience facilitating sensitive topics and creating a safe respectful and culturally competent learning environment for adolescents.

In addition to CSHE the Support Specialist may assist with other Prevention & Intervention Education programs-such as Youth Behavioral Awareness (YBA) Adolescent Counseling Education Services (ACES) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL)-based on availability and afternoon scheduling needs. These secondary roles may involve facilitating workshops on college/career readiness self-care SEL projects and supporting Parent-Child Night events.


Note: Due to the subject matter and the focus on programming for male students we strongly encourage male-identifying educators to apply. This helps ensure student comfort engagement and openness when discussing personal and gender-specific topics. All qualified applicants regardless of gender will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based age-appropriate sexual health education to male student groups
  • Create an inclusive respectful and supportive environment
  • Address physical emotional and social aspects of sexual health relevant to male youth
  • Collaborate with school staff and counselors to support student needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
  • Facilitate group and individual sessions aligned with program goals
  • Prepare materials and resources needed for effective lesson delivery
  • Adapt content to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance progress and outcomes
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Communicate effectively with families and caregivers as appropriate
  • Attend team meetings and professional development sessions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in health education public health social work Liberal Arts Psychology or a related field
  • Prior experience teaching or counseling youth on health-related topics
  • Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to handle sensitive discussions with maturity and discretion

This position does require fingerprint clearances from DOJ & FBI for all employees who work with students.
