Description

The E.H.R. Site Specialist is the EPIC application expert and will be dedicated to assist in all EPIC related areas in Gracelight Community Health. The E.H.R. Site Specialist provides on-boarding trainings as well as subsequent trainings for system upgrades and/or workflow modifications. Tests new and existing workflows and make recommendations as appropriate. Maintain Gracelight-managed components of the EPIC system. Manages EPIC tickets and request as they come in. Attend OCHIN Site Specialist and assigned conferences as scheduled by OCHIN.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Supports and implements the organizations vision mission and values.
  2. Provides hands-on initial and on-going training on the EPIC system to both licensed and non-licensed staff including providers.
  3. Develops training strategies and creation of training materials.
  4. Provide direct support to clinical operations and patient care teams on the optimal use of the Epic application in the organization.
  5. Provide daily support to Epic applications users through troubleshooting and coaching.
  6. Provides feedback on EHR users competencies.
  7. Identify assess and troubleshoot application issues as they occur owning the problem and seeing it through to full resolution.
  8. Determines priorities and method of completing daily workload to ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely manner.
  9. Performs all job functions in a professional and courteous manner. This includes answering all phone calls and emails timely and providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  10. Fosters and promotes a culture of service excellence and accountability.
  11. Develop and maintain workflows both for EPICs operational and clinical functions. Documentation includes the writing of new and revised procedures to support the workflows.
  12. Responsible for the maintaining and monitoring of assigned workqueue and in basket pools.
  13. Uses discretion and judgment in handling sensitive or confidential information.
  14. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School Diploma required. Bachelors degree preferred.
  2. Healthcare healthcare operations IT or training experience required.
  3. One year experience working in an outpatient setting required.
  4. Valid California Drivers License and active automobile insurance required.
  5. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems specifically EPIC required. Experience with Ochin EPIC preferred.
  6. MA LVN or an allied health certificate from an accredited institution preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Must be able to work independently and be a team player.
  2. Demonstrates ability and flexibility to work in other areas of the organization as needed.
  3. Adheres to company policies and procedures in the performance of work duties.
  4. Demonstrate required knowledge skills and education for job functions.
  5. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with health center staff at all levels to ensure maximum usage of EPIC software package.
  6. Demonstrates current knowledge of EPIC System support.
  7. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint Word Excel)
  8. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Strong customer service skills.
  10. Basic knowledge of project management.
