Dream is looking for an Intern Sustainability & ESG

We are always looking for the best and brightest to join our thriving community and the Sustainability & ESG Team at Dream is looking to hire an Intern Sustainability & ESG for a 4-month internship starting in September 2025.

What will you do

The successful candidate will provide a strong supporting function to the Director Sustainability & ESG. Below are some examples of things you would be working on:

  • Assist with data collection for annual energy & water consumption reporting - Energy Star Portfolio Manager Energy/Water Reporting and Benchmarking (EWRB) in Ontario Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) etc.
  • Prepare meeting minutes & project tracking sheets
  • Communicate with consultants and other internal departments on sustainability related matters including ESG assessments audits and other administrative matters;
  • Support with gathering data and information for submissions to ESG Ratings Agencies
  • Contribute to Dreams Sustainability Report
  • Assist with internal/external green teams and working groups
  • Assist as required with ESG compliance and analysis
  • Other sustainability related ad hoc projects.

What type of experience and skills do you have

In addition to being able to showcase your collaborative mindset and positive attitude you need to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a focus on Business Management Building Science/Engineering Environmental Studies or Sustainability.

The following are your keys to your success with us:

  • Being diligent and detail oriented when preparing deliverables
  • Being driven to continuously learn from experiences and seek out feedback and development opportunities
  • Working hard and smart to meet demands at key times of pressure
  • A student currently enrolled in Business Engineering or Sustainability program; experience in renewable energy ESG reporting or green building certifications is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office especially Excel is essential
  • A key interest in data analytics and conducting quantitative and qualitative research
  • Experience with ESG data sets is an asset
  • LEED Green Associate credential is an asset
  • Knowledge of or experience in the real estate sector
