Sime Industrial is currently recruiting for a Systems and Cloud Engineer to join our team in Archerfield QLD on a permanent fulltime position.
Reporting to the Cloud-Team Leader this position will be a varied role providing day to day technical support including maintenance support on Infrastructure as well as taking on responsibility for the implementation of new initiatives and projects.
Key responsibilities of the role will include planning and delivering upgrades and improvements to business systems infrastructure proactively identifying and implementing changes to improve the resiliency and security of the environment working within an agile squad. As a mid to senior professional with previous experience working in large organisations your role will include a diverse range of opportunities to expand and utilise your skills and knowledge.
Key responsibilities:
This role will involve the following key duties and responsibilities:
Improvement
- Ensure system availability and business systems recovery objectives are met. Assist to implement a continuous improvement lifecycle.
- Identify potential risks to system availability and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
- Document and implement disaster recovery procedures that align with business RPO & RTO.
- Assist with project delivery collaborate with other teams and take the lead on technical issues and tasks
- Proactive administration of Sime Industrial (SDI) infrastructure through the use of approved management consoles and tools.
- Maintain and implement security backup and redundancy strategies as required
- Manage core IT systems including administration of on premises datacentre infrastructure including compute storage and networking.
- Administer Azure and Google cloud infrastructure applications and services ensuring they are optimised and configured in line with organisational policies.

Essential requirements
- Minimum five years experience working as a Systems/Cloud Engineer or similar
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology Computer Science or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies including compute networking and storage as well as significant experience supporting Datacentre and Cloud based environments.
- Advanced technical skills with demonstrated ability to analyse and solve complex problems
