Job Summary
The Els for Autism Foundation seeks to provide a warm and welcoming environment to all those passing through the doors of the Els Center of Excellence (ECOE). The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for all visitors including families staff researchers media and community leaders. As the first impression of The Els Center of Excellence this individual demonstrates a passion for both service and the mission of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Serve as an outstanding ambassador of the Els Center of Excellence
- Inform staff when visitor/client/appointment has arrived at the reception area
- Answer screen and direct incoming calls including calls from volunteers corporations food and financial donors partner agencies people in need of resources families individuals seeking information about the programs and services of the ECOE
- Accept deliveries and informs staff member to pick up their item; sort and deliver mail
- Ensure all visitors have been Checked in appropriately and are wearing a visitors badge
- Oversee general appearance of the front reception and public areas.
- Perform other general administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years professional experience in office administration/receptionist work.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities to greet visitors of widely varied backgrounds and to work independently under minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills - written verbal and active listening
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good documentation abilities
- Detail orientation
- Friendly personality that enjoys assisting customers/clients/families
- Experience with Windows-based computer applications
- Knowledge of Autism is a plus
Working Hours and Conditions
- Work hours are Monday-Friday 1 PM - 5 PM
- Typical reception area office environment
- Ability to multi-task and focus during periods of high activity/noise in the lobby area
