Requirements- The candidate must possess the following skills and experience:

• Teachers instructional approach must align with Self Development Academys vision and mission.
• Certified Elementary School Teacher. Or two years experience.
• Must have SEI/ESL endorsement. We provide training for those that have not received such endorsements.
• Must have Content area expertise and pedagogical knowledge to teach rigorous curriculum.
• Use effective instructional strategies to inspire students to do their very best.
• Willing to learn and grow attend professional development trainings and contribute to the schools community.
• Must Demonstrate Four Essential Teaching Traits:
  • Ensuring Proper Task-Objective Alignment
  • Ensuring Full Participation among the students
  • Using Differentiation in classroom lessons and instructions
  • Using Frequent Formative Assessments
• Must have a passion for teaching.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Task 1: Mastery of Content and Pedagogy Expertise

• Strong understanding of Core Knowledge standards
• Ability to develop lessons that are cross-curricular

Task 2: Establishment of Inclusive Learning Environment

• Create and maintain a positive learning environment with solid classroom management.
• Foster communication and partner with parents to ensure student success

Task 3: Effective Instruction

• Plan organize and effectively teach rigorous Core Knowledge curriculum
• Prepare for and support educational paraprofessionals that are assigned to classroom to support students
• Adapt teaching methods and instruction to meet students varying needs and interests

Task 4: Leadership and Reflection

• Participate in professional development trainings professional learning communities committee work and in staff meetings

Task 5: Accountability

• Monitor student growth through various forms of informal and formal assessments
• Utilize student data to inform instruction

Evaluation:Performance will be evaluated by Elementary Education Director using an evaluation instrument that is aligned with job description and goals.

Education and Experience:Minimum of Bachelors degree. Masters degree is preferred.

Salary:Very competitive salary that is commensurate with experience. We also offer retirement and health insurance benefits and paid time off.

Hours:Full-Time. Normal hours are:

Mesa: 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM Monday through Friday.

Phoenix: 7:30 AM 4:00 PM Monday through Friday
