Job Description

Are you ready to shape the future of manufacturing Join us as Senior Procurement Manager for Plant Automation and play a pivotal role in designing the supplier ecosystem that will power our next-generation fully automated touchless CHEP plants.

What Youll Do:
Lead the identification selection and onboarding of world-class suppliers aligned with our automation and innovation roadmap.
Drive the development and delivery of prototypes that will define the future of our global operations.
Act as the primary liaison with the Process Engineering team to assess feasibility and validate new or alternative technologies.
Collaborate closely with Regional Procurement Supply Chain Finance Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to ensure seamless execution.
Establish and manage a robust vendor governance framework to foster high-performance long-term supplier partnerships.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Develop and execute sustainable category sourcing strategies for the region/function that align with global and local procurement priorities.
  • Act as a champion for strategic sourcing ensuring that procurement initiatives deliver long-term value and meet organizational needs.
  • Lead category management for key spend areas applying data-driven insights market intelligence and advanced procurement techniques to maximize value and minimize risk. Ensure category strategies consider external market factors and emerging trends that could impact business objectives.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with senior business stakeholders ensuring procurement is involved early in the sourcing process. Leverage procurements expertise to align sourcing initiatives with business needs offering strategic advice that enhances procurements role within the organization.
  • Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and manage pricing strategies. Ensure the implementation of new pricing agreements manage supplier contracts and conduct ongoing reviews to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Oversee supplier performance management across key categories ensuring suppliers consistently meet performance quality and cost requirements.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to regulatory requirements internal policies and ethical standards. Develop strategies to minimize supply chain risk including mitigating supplier risk financial exposure and potential disruptions.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the procurement function ensuring alignment with annual targets. Provide regular updates on procurement performance cost savings supplier performance and compliance metrics to senior leadership.

Scope

  • Plant Of the Future Development
  • Pallet Inspection Sort and Repair Automation (ISRP lines)
  • Global Maintenance of CAPEX equipment and associated spare parts (included in the purchase of the equipment).
  • Power: biomass biochar kiln stem systems etc.
  • Safety projects (machine guarding pedestrian segregation etc.)

Measures

  • Capture the state-of-the-art companies technologies products and services related to Automation.
  • Manage the adoption of these new technologies/partners by Brambles.
  • Plant Efficiencies Supporting Automation and Digitization projects
  • Sustainability Supporting and leading relevant Brambles initiatives
  • Risk Management (Supplier Performance and Contracts Management)

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Identify select and onboard the best partners for the execution of CHEP automation roadmap.
  • Focal contact person with Process Engineering team to support feasibility and verification of new and/or alternative technologies.
  • Work and collaborate routinely with Regional Procurement and Supply Chain (Ops Finance Quality Assurance and Process Engineering) Leads and their teams.
  • Establish a vendor governance framework with key suppliers to include:
  • Development negotiation and renewal of Master Agreements and project contracts to mitigate potential risks
  • Ongoing supplier performance management with relevant score card
  • Strategic vendor management relationships that optimize efficient and effective consumption of equipment and spares
  • Diversify CHEPs supplier base to enable competition drive innovation and provide robust alternatives as needed
  • Execute according to Brambles Procurement Policies and ensure Zero Harm and Compliance Charters are adhered to
  • 20% travel potential domestic and international

Challenges/Problem Solving

  • High complexity and critically of projects due to technical specifications/requirements and short execution timelines.
  • Analytical and innovative skills are preferred especially for CapEx projects.
  • High workload and potentially will have to navigate conflicting priorities.

Authority/ Decision Making

  • Approval of new supplier requests verifying technical and commercial compliance.
  • Negotiation with suppliers
  • C- Level stakeholders problem solving or supporting impromptu decision making
  • Working autonomously or having a disrupted level of line manager support with differing location and/or time zones
  • Effectively collaborating in a truly matrix environment i.e. across Engineering Ops Quality HSE Finance Legal and others

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree (mechanical or
  • 5 experience in EPC (Engineering Procurement and Contracting) projects.
  • 2 years of strategic sourcing for R&D or high complexity engineering projects.
  • Experience within Procurement and related P2P ERP systems such as Coupa Ariba and SAP.
  • 3 years of contract management experience. Be a close partner to the Legal department
  • Demonstrated experience thinking strategically but detail-oriented to support concepts with facts and data
  • Experience articulating points of view with senior management and supporting/executing impromptu directions

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience building consensus negotiating difficult situations and influencing or making key strategic decisions
  • Technical Experience moving seamlessly from strategy to execution while delivering tangible results
  • Solid ability to deliver under high demand
  • Experience working in a matrix organization particularly with cross-functional teams and in a fast-paced setting
  • Familiarity with contract clauses around Intellectual Property

Experience

  • > 5 years experience within a large international business is desirable
  • Procurement professional with experience in engineered projects (design procurement controllership etc.) management preferably with Global experience
