Job Description
Location: Temple TX 76508
Shift: 12 HR Days 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
- Prepare and arrange surgical and procedural rooms by organizing instruments equipment treatment trays and supplies per departmental needs.
- Clean instruments and equipment using approved detergents and disinfectants.
- Operate sterilization equipment in compliance with organizational and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain inventory by ordering restocking and distributing instruments reusable medical equipment and supplies.
- Ensure adherence to safety environmental and infection control protocols to maintain optimal patient care standards.
- Share expertise with colleagues through mentoring and in-service training sessions.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new Sterile Processing staff.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques equipment handling and instrument care.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols manufacturer instructions and infection prevention practices.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Sterile Processing or related experience (required)
- Certifications (must have one of the following):
- Certified Board Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD)
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
