1. Objective of the Assignment
The Project Manager will be responsible for the effective coordination implementation and reporting of the nutrition-sensitive agriculture project. The role includes technical oversight stakeholder engagement and ensuring timely delivery of project outputs in line with SNVs quality standards and donor requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Implementation
- Lead day-to-day management of the project ensuring timely and quality delivery of activities.
- Coordinate with technical advisors on agriculture nutrition and MEL to ensure integration of nutrition-sensitive approaches.
- Monitor progress against work plans and budgets and adjust implementation strategies as needed.
- Provide leadership and technical support to a team of 10 members.
Technical Oversight
- Ensure the application of climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive agricultural practices.
- Support capacity building of local partners and stakeholders on nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
- Promote gender equality and social inclusion in all project activities.
Monitoring Evaluation & Learning
- Ensure data collection and reporting align with SNVs MEL framework.
- Facilitate learning and reflection sessions with project teams and partners.
- Document lessons learned and contribute to internal and external knowledge sharing.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with local authorities community-based organizations and development partners.
- Represent SNV in relevant coordination meetings and forums.
Reporting
- Prepare high-quality progress reports success stories and technical briefs for internal and donor use.
- Ensure compliance with donor and SNV reporting requirements.
3. Deliverables
- Updated work plan and implementation schedule for the project period.
- Monthly progress report.
- Final technical report summarizing achievements challenges lessons learned and recommendations.
- Quarterly donor report
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Masters degree in agriculture nutrition rural development or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing agriculture or food security projects preferably in Lao PDR
- Proven experience in nutrition-sensitive agriculture climate-smart practices and gender-inclusive programming.
- Strong project management coordination and reporting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English
- Experience with donor-funded project implementation and reporting standards in English language.
- Knowledge of Lao PDR is an asset.
Additional Information :
Assignment Location
This position is based in the SNV Vientiane office with frequent travel to target districts and communities.
Reporting Line
The Project Manager will report to the Country Director SNV Lao PDR and work closely with the technical advisors.
