We are looking for a Natural Gas Operations Technician to join our team!

Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive and as such you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract criminal check a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

What You Will Do:

  • Assists with cathodic protection and leak surveys as required by DOT.

  • Assists in the maintenance of facilities and equipment.

  • Assists in performance of cathodic protection or leak survey (monitoring and troubleshooting).

  • Assists in performing special tests for other departments.

  • Assists in maintaining cathodic protection system maps and records.

  • Assists in maintaining and repairs leak survey or cathodic protection test equipment.

  • Assists in maintaining cathodic protection rectifiers.

  • Interacts with region and area personnel.

  • Complies with all company Standard Practices and DOT requirements.

Who You Are:

  • Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.

  • High School Diploma and/or GED is required

  • Requires 01-year related experience

Must demonstrate ability to develop basic knowledge of maintenance and repair of leak survey and corrosion detection equipment. Ability to develop basic knowledge of corrosion principles and corrosion resisting materials. Ability to develop basic knowledge of leak survey principles. Ability to develop basic knowledge of electrochemical and direct current principles. Ability to develop basic knowledge of Enbridge Gas (Questar Gas) leak survey and corrosion Standard Practices. Basic knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to leak survey and corrosion protection requirements. Ability to read and understand pipeline system maps. Ability to understand and complete written and oral instructions. Ability to communicate effectively orally. Ability to detect odors related to natural gas. Ability to interact with others to communicate clear instructions and to evaluate results.

Must have the ability to walk 7 to 11 miles while carrying equipment that weighs up to 15 pounds through mountainous terrain.

Undergo random drug and/or alcohol testing with satisfactory results subject to DOT and company requirements depending on specific job duties; Required to wear safety shoes; May be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance for working with hazardous materials depending on specific job duties; May be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance to wear a respirator and be able to wear respirator as evidenced by satisfactory completion of respirator fit test depending on specific job duties; Comply with OSHA annual audiometric testing requirements; ability to lift unassisted 100lbs.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Balancing bending and stooping climbing crawling carrying (up to 100 pounds) grasping kneeling lifting (objects up to 100 pounds) pulling hand over hand pushing reaching above shoulder repetitive motion sitting standing walking visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement grasping kneeling light moderate lifting (objects up to 100 pounds) reaching above shoulder repetitive motion sitting standing visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines complete routine forms compose letters outlines memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
