Job Description

Position: Events Coordinator
Department: Program Administration
Schedule: Part-time Non-exempt
Wage Range: $20-21/hr 25 hrs/week


Position Description: The Part-Time Events Coordinator provides essential support in the planning and
execution of annual and special events for The Lighthouse Mission Ministries. This individual works directly
under the supervision of the Director of Community Engagement and collaborates closely with various
programs and the Advancement Department to ensure successful event outcomes. This role involves engaging
with volunteers and residents of LMM programs contributing to the Missions efforts to foster community
connections and support its outreach.

Position-Specific Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Community Engagement in the planning coordination and execution of all
annual and special events for Lighthouse Mission Ministries.
Work closely with programs and other departments to organize events that support their objectives
and community outreach.
Collaborate with the Advancement Department on the successful planning and execution of annual
fundraising and engagement events.
Engage with volunteers providing support and coordination for their involvement in events.
Interact with residents of LMM programs involving them in appropriate event activities and
opportunities.
Coordinate event logistics including venue setup materials preparation and volunteer assignments.
Help manage event timelines and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Assist with event promotion and communication as needed.
Support post-event activities including thank you notes data entry related to event attendance and
debriefing.
General Responsibilities:
Establish event goals and vision with the Director of Community Engagement
Develop timelines and manage logistics for events from planning through execution
Coordinate key annual events such as the fundraising gala Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners gift and
donation drives Drive for Joy toiletry kit drives volunteer appreciation events other fundraising
events and partnership brunches
Communicate regularly with staff volunteers vendors and community partners to ensure smooth
coordination
Track planning progress maintain schedules and ensure all event tasks are completed on time
Support post-event follow-up including acknowledgments debriefs and evaluations
Maintain a positive pleasant and professional attitude
Work with other staff to model transparent and supportive Christian relationships serving as aleadership example for residents
Provide and facilitate an environment that relationally shares with residents the full range of resources
available to assist them particularly LMM programming (Shelter Operations Ascent Program and
Agape Home) in overcoming the conditions that cause homelessness
Embrace use and implement LMMs grace-based programming philosophy
Comply with all standard operating procedures and emergency procedures for each site
Be an enthusiastic encourager of Mission staff through affirmation of good work
Call out and celebrate the work of the Holy Spirit in staff and residents proclaiming Gods work
Maintain timely and accurate documentation as needed
Pray with and for Mission programming staff
Respond to emergencies on the Mission campus as needed
Other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Organizational Relationships:
Reports directly to the Director of Community Engagement.
Works closely with the Advancement Department on several annual events and projects
Works alongside program leadership staff support staff volunteers and interns
Cultivates relationships with community partners
Represents LMM at various events and meetings when requested by the Director

Qualifications:
Experience in event planning or coordination preferably in a non-profit or community-focused setting.
Or a combination of work and life experience that demonstrates an ability to fulfill all aspects of the job
description
A passion for serving Jesus and making the Gospel known through mercy ministry and discipleship.
Agreement with LMM Statement of Faith and Life & Personal Covenant. The successful candidate will
have an active church/prayer life
Ability to provide Christian devotionals and prayer in a group setting
Understanding of the Missions grace-based philosophy
Ability to remain calm and calm others in an emergency and/or confrontational situations
First Aid/CPR/CPI certification required. Can be provided on the job if needed
Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with LMM staff and with a diverse
resident base
Effective interpersonal communication skillsboth written and oral
Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple efforts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Ability to learn other systems and databases

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
An intermittent high-stress environment
Standing 20%; walking 20%; sitting 60%; ability to walk up and down stairs
Medium to heavy lifting up to 20 lbs.
Possible exposure to a variety of illnesses
Both inside and outside activities regardless of the weather
Ability to rapidly deal with emergency situations
