Job Title: School Bus Mechanic
Location:Apple Grove Unified Schools
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles.
- Experience with school buses and diesel engines preferred.
- Experience with vehicle body work is a plus.
- Current Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement no Air Brake Restriction and a clean driving record.
- School Bus Endorsement preferred.
- Flexibility and adaptability are essential.
Job Description:
Apple Grove Unified Schools is seeking a skilled and dependableSchool Bus Mechanicto join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills a commitment to student safety and the ability to work collaboratively within the school community. This role ensures that all district vehicles are maintained in safe and efficient operating condition.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Diagnose repair and maintain school buses trucks vans mowers and other district equipment.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and supplies.
- Provide emergency roadside assistance for district vehicles.
- Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency safety service and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist drivers with routine vehicle checks including fuel oil coolant and tire pressure.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Transport students when required due to staffing needs.
