Overview
The perinatal sonographer is responsible for providing advanced ultrasound services for the patient experiencing high-risk pregnancy. The service is in collaboration with the maternal-fetal physician specializing in the appropriate diagnosis or concern and the gestational age of the pregnancy.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles mumps rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus diphtheria acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Performs Perinatal ultrasound procedures on Fetal Health patients in both the Outpatient and Inpatient settings and acts as a preceptor for novice imagers.
- Performs Perinatal ultrasound duties and assists Maternal-Fetal physician in all appropriate procedures.
- Demonstrate commitment to teamwork
- Participate in learning and performance improvement activities designed to improve patient care and/or organizational processes.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years experience
- Graduate from an accredited ARDMS program
- Perinatal Ultrasound Experience and 3-5 years experience
- One of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer RDMS credential with an OB/GYN specialty Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echocardio required upon hire
- RDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) RDMS in OB Gyn and FE or RDCS-FE Required 180 Days
- Current CEUs Required Upon Hire
- NT Certification Required Upon Hire
- RDCS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDCS) RDCS (FE) Preferred Upon Hire

Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $40.40/hr but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible to work remotely which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Childrens Mercy locations and may not work from home.
