About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Service Navigation as the Business Analyst (CSO 3) you play a key role in supporting CSDSs mission to provide better services to Nova Scotians. Youll provide leadership in the analysis of business processes and information systems as business requirements change to ensure effective service delivery. You will work in multidisciplinary teams ensuring services meet the business needs while supporting existing technology standards and helping to establish new ones.

You will also act as a liaison between and cross IT organization teams to ensure infrastructure services meet defined technology solutions and business needs while supporting existing technology standards and helping to establish new ones.
You will require highly developed interpersonal skills including empathy persuasion negotiation and tact. You will work collaboratively with our partners in government and health care to lead major initiatives focused on the digital transformation.
Primary Accountabilities
- Work closely with partners to understand their business needs and act as a liaison for clients in the resolution of IT technology and service-related problems.
- Conduct and document analysis for diverse short and long-term projects and enhancements related to the Departments business and strategic goals. This includes assessment of the current situation and business requirements analysis of incidents and problems providing recommendations opportunity evaluation development of business cases and cost analysis. Solutions may be business process technology and/or service oriented.
- Plan facilitate and lead workshops with internal and external participants and facilitate decision making with the business departmental management and external vendors (where appropriate).
- Lead and complete the preparation and documentation of business requirements business process definitions workflow processes and data models system specifications and implementation plans.
- Ensure effective communication where agreement or cooperation is required or where there are barriers to understanding. Establish and manage competing priorities and identify opportunities for cross-departmental or corporate initiatives.
- Chair stakeholder and team meetings support other services when required and monitor tasks and quality of work.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports.
- Participate in departmental committees and working groups.
- Maintain current awareness and knowledge of new software best practices standards and methodologies.
- Support existing service excellence processes when needed.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a bachelors degree in information technology or computer science plus a minimum of 3 years experience or graduation from a recognized Information Technology program plus 3 years and 6 months of experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
You will also have the following skills and/or work experience:
- Established IT strategies policies and procedures and link these with customer requirements.
- Office automation software such as Word Excel PowerPoint email and collaboration software to write business cases create reports and spreadsheets.
- Reporting skills (Knowledge of Power BI will be considered as an asset)
- Ability to solve problems make decisions and/or recommendations
- Analytical skills to convert business requirements into business cases.
- Ability to interview facilitate working groups and develop strong relationships
- Ability to maintain a high level of data accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written).
- Flexible and adaptable to ever changing priorities.

Pay Grade: PR 14
Salary Range: $2653.85- $3231.58Bi-Weekly
