Job Description

Industrial Planning Manager - Houston TX

LOCATION: Houston- Texas-USA

DEPARTMENT:PLANNING

Entity/Department: Tenaris Bay City Inc.

Location: Houston TX (May work from home on a hybrid schedule within Houston and surrounding area)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manages the regional Tenaris Planning Process medium and long-term exerting Business Unit (BU) and Production Unit (PU) management control supporting top management by forecasting economic & financial performance.
  • Provide market intelligence to the commercial team both regional and international.
  • Supports operational team in finding efficiencies and identifying deviations.
  • Leads Tenaris medium and long-term planning process analyzing strategic information both of local and international markets.
  • Prepares managerial Profit & Loss and Cashflow reports and issues monthly reporting for top management.
  • Defines the addressable market size by product and region the competitive environment for each and suggests actions and price levels. Exerts Production Unit management control analyzing variable (transformation steel labor & consumables) and fixed costs efficiency KPIs and operational volumes.
  • Defines efficiency targets and standard costs comparing actual performance against the same issuing reports and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Provides support to top management with the analysis and formulation of economic and financial revisions preparing the company annual budget elaborating PU industrial cost and operations budget analyzing the market dynamics and monitoring the evolution of competitive positioning within market.
  • Maximizes productive equipment and resources establishing production standards of the different plants and productive areas of the region. Introduces and maintains in the region a project management culture and provides a framework for managing projects that have strategic impact.
  • Provides support in negotiations to commercial areas of the company and identifies areas of opportunity and/or improvement regarding new projects.
  • Participates in the development of new business in the region managing market intelligence activities and evaluates projects identifying and selecting potential business targets.
  • Provides support to commercial areas of the company analyzing market information on costs profitability and prices negotiation.
  • Complies with Tenaris policies procedures and management standards and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering or closely related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in a project management occupation interacting with every level of an industrial organization including workshop/technical personnel supervisors and senior managers and using each of the following: data analysis manipulating large data sets; database user interface and query software including Microsoft Access Microsoft SQL Server and Structured query language SQL; decision support software including Excel VBA and Access; reporting access & sharing software tools including Power BI Power Apps; data collection automation.
  • Experience must include at least two (2) years of experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and SAP software modules.
