Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Business Systems / Data Engineer this position will be responsible for:
Supporting the day-to-day management and maintenance of data and processes in systems such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) IWMS (Integrated Workplace Management Systems) or EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) platforms.
Collect input and validate data related to asset inventories maintenance schedules work orders and equipment performance.
Assist in generating reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to facilities operations and maintenance.
Analyze trends in maintenance and asset performance data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Collaborate with facilities staff technicians administrative and IT teams to ensure data consistency and system usability.
Support data audits reconciliations and updates to ensure information and system integrity.
Develop and document business processes standard operating procedures and data entry guidelines.
Provide end-user support and training on data systems and reporting tools.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Data Analytics Facilities Management Engineering Business or equivalent related experience
Experience in a data & process intensive role preferably in a facilities engineering or asset-intensive environment.
Familiarity with CMMS IWMS or EAM systems (e.g. AssetWorks Maximo Archibus or similar).
Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with data management and reporting is desirable.
Excellent attention to detail organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SQL or BI tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau)
Advanced Excel skills including pivot table development and advanced lookup functions.
Experience with system administration.
Experience in Facilities Management working with enterprise wide management systems.
Awareness of Virginia TechFacilities processes and procedures
