JOB SUMMARY:
This person reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Students/ Director of Campus Life and has the responsibility for the planning organizing and supervision of all royal court events and programs and actively working with students and administration in the execution of these programs. Advisor(s) will assist in such duties as may be assigned or delegated to meet the needs of all constituents of Fort Valley State University Including the following:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan develop and implement schedule of events programs and student development training opportunities for members of the Royal Court including but not limited to the Royal Coronation Royal Pageant/Showcase and Royal Tea.
- Coordinate requests for appearances made for the Court. (This may include on-campus and/or off-campus appearance requests.)
- Coordinate external pageant participation involving Mr. and Miss FVSU.
- Knowledge of the previous Royal Courts protocols is helpful in planning and organizing activities.
- Advise Mr. and Miss FVSU the Royal Attendants/Gentlemen
- Coordinate activities with class Kings and Queens.
- Coordinate wardrobe and outfits for official appearances.
- Coordinate photo shoots and/or opportunities for the Court.
- Give advice on all matters that affect the Royal Court.
- Ensure the positive image and perception of the Royal Court.
- Travel chaperone for the Royal Court on all away trips that are sponsored by the university.
- Responsible for all administrative transactions regarding the Royal Court.
- Make reports to the Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Campus Life SGA President and Student Senate on the status of the Royal Court.
- Issue recommendations to the SGA President and Student Senate for the removal of any member of the Royal Court if needed.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to the Royal Court including but not limited to maintaining the Royal Court Handbook.
- Promote positive behavioral skills with all students particularly student leaders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
- Four years of related experience.
- Demonstrated development and management of a substantial budget and contract oversight experience preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience and high efficiency with Banner
- Experience and high efficiency with PeopleSoft
- Certified Public Accountant
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Knowledge of budget preparations and management.
- Knowledge of student development and student activity programs at the University.
- Current and valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Ability to plan organize and facilitate a range of special events.
- Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
- Some overnight and weekend travel is required (Hall of Fame Fountain City Classic).
- Ability to multi-task and organize.
- Ability to make creative independent decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
