Assistant Mechanic / Equipment Service Technician
Country Club of Landfall Wilmington NC
Compensation: commensurate with experience

The Country Club of Landfall is a private club located near Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington NC. The membership invests heavily in their golfing experience and places a high demand on course conditioning whether it be for tournaments or daily play. A fleet consisting of over 100 individual pieces of equipment the majority of it leased is heavily relied upon to intensely maintain CCLs 45-holes worth of golf courses and 2 practice facilities.
The Assistant Mechanic / Equipment Service Technician reports directly to the Equipment Manager and Director of Golf Courses & Grounds Maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a can-do attitude be energetic and embrace detail orientation. He or she will also be highly motivated passionate comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment and aspire to climb the career ladder within the industry.
The responsibilities of the Assistant Mechanic / Equipment Service Technician will include but may not be limited to:
Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the Equipment Manager.
Inspects diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment.
Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.
Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed.
Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipment.
In combination with equipment operators keeps maintenance equipment fueled oiled and inspected; and performs related tasks as required.
Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment the proper methods of servicing golf course equipment and the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.
Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
Ability to move heavy objects.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.
Mechanical ability; ability to use common mechanical tools.
Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and the public.
Maintain a clean safe work environment.
Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized parts inventory room.
Adhering to the proper recycling and/or disposal of various oils compounds and other fluids (antifreeze oil filters etc).
Assisting in an effective daily inspection of golf course maintenance equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2 years prior experience in a similar position.
Previous experience within the golf course maintenance industry strongly preferred
Must possess a valid drivers license
