Job Description
Job Title: Class Educator (Quilting & Sewing Instructor) Location: Grace Company West Jordan UT Schedule: MondayFriday (occasional Saturdays as needed) Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $18-$25 an hour dependent on experience
Overview: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Class Educator to join our team and teach quilting and sewing classes in both in-person and virtual settings. This role is ideal for someone who loves to share their skills enjoys helping others grow creatively and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach quilting and sewing classes (in-person and virtual) following the curriculum designed by our director of education Karla
- Offer hands-on instruction product education and technique demonstrations to students of varying skill levels
- Assist in preparing class materials including cutting fabric/panels and assembling workbooks
- Support retail operations by assisting in the store when not teaching
- Help maintain a clean organized and welcoming classroom and workspace
Class Schedule:
- Classes run approximately 7 hours each day
- Weekly structure may include:
- MondayTuesday class
- ThursdayFriday class
- Advanced class (WednesdayFriday)
- Short half-day class on Saturdays to come in the future.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in quilting and sewing with experience teaching or training others preferred
- Friendly patient and confident presenting to groups or in front of a camera (for virtual classes)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with basic technology used for virtual instruction (Zoom cameras etc.)
- Able to lift and move fabric and classroom supplies as needed
