Our client a well-established company based in the Ashmore area is seeking a BDM & Event Operations Manager to join their team. Your role will lead daily operations oversee activity of departmental managers and will focus on developing business to increase exposure in the marketplace at events and trade shows.
The company focuses on products within the bedding and sleep health sector which are sold online in-home and through trade shows events and exhibitions. They are very well-established have a good company structure strong reputation and good depth of service delivery.
Reporting to the Executive Manager your responsibilities will include leading a line of Department Managers across events sales marketing and customer service and will include:
- Events Managing the calendar of events liaising with vendors suppliers and the internal teams to ensure each event is adequately staffed and well equipped with collateral and products
- Business Development Building relationships with event managers partners and exhibition coordinators to seek out new opportunities to grow representation at events as well as optimising repeat event attendance
- Operations - Leading the team and troubleshooting daily issues management and optimisation of workflow overseeing client service delivery managing the events calendar marketing input and reporting
- HR - Recruitment and onboarding performance management training staff queries management of employee records
- Finance - Liaising with the Finance Manager and Executive team weekly events & general payments approvals and providing input to budgets and targets
- Reporting / Administration - Reporting to the executive document and procedure management IT and CRM management client reporting running team meetings
We are seeking a professional candidate that meets the following criteria:
- Prior experience in an operations or general management role
- Solid business development client relationship management and negotiation skills
- Experience with events (booking/scheduling/planning/logistics) would be highly useful for this role
- Strong leadership ability with the skills to direct train and develop staff as well as sharing skills and knowledge with others
- Planning forecasting and budgetary skills
- Effective problem solving and interpersonal liaison skills
- Strong administrative and reporting skills
- IT proficiency with skills in MS Office email CRMs () as well as sales and document management software
- A self-motivated approach with the demonstrated ability tomulti-task and work in a fast paced office setting
