Primary Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Community Involvement Program ( CIP ) the Associate Director will develop and lead initiatives around ethnic identity and leadership development to support Community Involvement Program student retention and development at Pacific. Advocates for inclusion and social justice ( CIP core competencies) and develops engagement opportunities with CIP students as leadership providing college readiness and pipelines including the BLOCK conference. Creating and maintaining data matrices for recruitment and retention the Associate Director recommends data driven retention and outreach decisions develops and coordinates CIP Outreach and recruitment with specific collaborative plans with local school districts San Joaquin Delta college and community agencies to target underrepresented groups. The Associate Director is responsible for working with community schools and agencies to promote educational access and CIP initiatives.
Essential Functions
Develops and provides developmental support services to participants of the CIP program by providing guidance mentorship and advocacy to ensure improved retention and persistence with an emphasis on: Facilitating regularly scheduled one-on-one student support sessions and group meetings Making referrals to relevant campus and community resources Developing various peer support opportunities for participants (i.e. advising study groups etc.). Collect analyze and visualize program data including engagement metrics applications and survey responses to evaluate impact and make data driven strategic improvement and communicate outcomes to stakeholders and donors. Using prior year data develops and implements strategic recruitment plan with intentional outreach to our most underrepresented and marginalized communities. Supervise scholar outreach coordinators lead outreach identify opportunities in the local community develops marketing information about the CIP program and recruits applicants. Reports weekly on the administration of the CIP application process including CIP social media and candidate interviews. Collaborates with and identifies internal and external partners for the purpose of establishing partnerships with community leaders and area agencies in order to create community service projects and mentoring opportunities for CIP participants. Assists the Director in CIP Scholar retention creating data driven curriculum for CIP Connects and using engagement data to create retention strategies. Leads outreach in mentor programs ( CIP CHASE Your Dreams) overseeing CIP Specialist and Mentors in program deliverables and data collection for annual stakeholder report. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. This position serves as Campus Security Authority ( CSA ) as outlined by the Clery Act. CSAs have federally mandated responsibilities to report crimes that are reported them. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Higher Education Business/Data Analytics or closely related field. Four (4) years of professional experience with underrepresented minoritized students in a college or university setting or with high school students transitioning to postsecondary education.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Higher Education Business/Data Analytics or closely related field. Demonstrated intercultural competence and the ability to successfully work with diverse constituencies including first-generation low-income and/or disabled students from a variety of racial ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Demonstrated skill in data analytics including analyzing and reporting data. Strong organizational writing interpersonal and technological skills. Demonstrated skill in database management recording tracking analyzing and reporting of data. Ability to work effectively in a collegial and collaborative manner with both internal and external stakeholders. Possess and utilize effective interpersonal skills and sound judgment necessary to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds including administrators faculty staff students and members of the local community. Demonstrated ability to plan implement and evaluate educational and informational programs. Understanding of fiscal management including the effective and timely administration of the program budget. Ability to understand and apply database concepts and use electronic media for correspondence and research. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice equity and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
Work Schedule
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. Work performed during standard business hours. May work additional hours outside standard business hours to meet business needs and deadlines. Light travel within local community.
