Providence Hall is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic a food services assistant manager to join the food services team at one of our campus (Elementary School Junior High School High School).
Schedule:
- Up to 35 hours/week during scheduled school days with an additional 7-9 days any time before or after the school year
- Department building and LEA professional development trainings and meetings as scheduled
Responsibilities:
- Participate in food preparation according to standard menu recipes and verbal instructions economically efficiently and on schedule.
- Assist in the production and understand the regulations of preparing and serving in matters of temperature appearance and portion size.
- Help in the requisition of routine supplies keep records and make reports.
- Calculate and record production quantities and inventory accurately and efficiently.
- Repeatedly lift and/or otherwise move cases and pans of food and other materials.
- Pack food properly for transportation and assist with deliveries.
- Operate kitchen equipment mechanical dishwasher and other equipment as needed.
- Assist in ordering food produce and dairy weekly.
- Store food and rotate stock on shelves to ensure freshness of products.
- Safely operate any equipment introduced into the kitchen.
- Maintain a sanitary and safe kitchen.
- Clean kitchen areas equipment mechanical dishwasher and other equipment as needed.
- Assist in serving students meals by following USDA guidelines and ensuring that their needs are recognized and acknowledged and and monitoring students during breakfast and/or lunch.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Inspect school or facilities food services areas for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations maintained in an attractive and clean condition and/or identifying necessary repairs due to vandalism equipment breakage weather conditions etc.
- Maintain a consistent presence at assigned work site(s) working the specified days/hours on assigned work calendar being a leader to the food services team.
- Use the schools positive behavior intervention system to reward students.
- Contribute to a positive work and school environment by maintaining a positive pleasant demeanor in all situations.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and LEA information by following school policies regarding confidential information.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels with students parents/guardians and colleagues. - Actively participate in assigned meetings professional developments and other trainings.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma GED or equivalent.
- Experience in large quantity food production and preparation.
- Ability to scratch bake with the knowledge of measuring weighing following recipes and operating equipment in a production kitchen.
- Ability to complete 10 hours of training annually as required by the USDA.
- Read write and do basic mathematics such as extrapolation recipes keeping records making changes counting money and making reports.
- Experience with Skyward point of sales system preferred.
- Flexibility in learning new concepts an even temper good work ethic willingness to cooperate with others and the ability to adapt to a variety of assignments and conditions.
- Good leadership skills with the ability to plan organize direct coordinate and delegate responsibilities to food service staff.
- High level organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask easily.
- Positive interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
- Professional communication skills including but not limited to: excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident articulate and professional speaking abilities; empathetic listening; and persuasive speaking.
- Willing to effectively problem-solving as needed.
- Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools.
- Work in a loud noisy environment around many adolescents.
- Obtain a Food Handlers permit within 2 weeks of starting work.
- Stand reach lift bend kneel stoop climb push pull and lift items weighing 50 lbs or less.
- Stand or walk 95% of the workday.
- Traverse school facility and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
- Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check including criminal history and professional references as a condition of employment.
