Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician II is responsible for executing assigned microbiological or chemistry testing in accordance with regulated laboratory testing techniques approved procedures and Customer specifications. The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:00 PM.
What You Will Do As a Laboratory Technician II
- Prepares and executes Laboratory tests (eg. Bioburden Sterility LAL Endotoxin Microbial Limits Anti-Microbial Effectiveness Organism Identification EO Residual cleaning qualifications and test method validations) in compliance with regulations and procedures. Testing may be performed in a cleanroom. 80%
- Creates/edits Customer specific preparatory methods for approval. 10%
- Participates in the development and review of methods and Standard Operating Procedures. 5%
- Maintains inventory for specified area 5%
- Other Duties as Assigned
The Experience Skills and Abilities Needed
Required Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a Laboratory with a HS Diploma or equivalent or no experience with an Associates Degree
- Knowledge of microbes such as bacteria mold and yeast; or knowledge of chemical assays and equipment.
- Knowledge of standard aseptic techniques and/or common laboratory equipment use.
- Ability to perform technical document preparation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum Intermediate level on Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work under control in pressure situations and adapt rapidly to change.
- Ability to read and interpret rules schedules procedures and instructions.
- Basic math skills including fractions decimals and dilution schemes.
- Ability to lift and exert force of up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work well with others.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelors degree in biology microbiology or chemistry.
Pay range for this opportunity starts at $20 an hour increasing based on experience.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors including but not limited to local labor market costs years of relevant experience education professional certifications foreign language fluency etc.
