The Philanthropies Department (PHI) helps to invite individuals and families to follow the example of the Lord Jesus Christ as they live the two great commandments to love God and their neighbors. Giving helps members and others experience the joy and blessings of participating in Gods work as they choose to follow inspiration and prophetic direction. To do this PHI facilitates and invites voluntary philanthropic giving (beyond tithes and fast offering) for programs and projects approved by the First Presidency. PHI teaches engages coordinates invites and reports regarding voluntary philanthropic contributions to the Church and its affiliated charities. PHI provides shared donor and philanthropic services to all Church-affiliated entities.
The Sr. Communications Specialist - Brand Manager employees serve as a brand manager providing exceptional marketing and communication materials in support of approved fundraising priorities. The expectation for all materials and activities is to facilitate engage invite and create an exceptional giving experience that reflects the standard of the Kingdom of God in alignment with the divinely appointed mission and purpose of the Church.
This position serves as a highly skilled individual contributor on the Marketing Communications team that provides exceptional marketing and communication materials in support of First Presidency approved fundraising priorities. Sr. Communications Specialist - Brand Manager is a senior role that supports the mission of the Church by serving as a caretaker for proposals/responses related to specific brand(s) (e.g. Missionary BYU) as fundraising communications and materials are created for external donor audiences. The goal is to align creative marketing activities and materials with the identified audience focus and strategy or in the case of specific grant-writing preparation aligning with technical application requirements to help facilitate an inspiring giving experience for all involved. Teaching engaging coordinating inviting and stewarding are defined accountabilities in every project. The clients served include prospects donors institutional leaders and Philanthropies (PHI) colleagues.

Typically Sr. Communications Specialist - Brand Manager employees will spend their time Teaching (15%) Engaging (20%) Coordinating (20%) Inviting (30%) and Reporting (15%) in support of strategic coordination and invitations to participate in inspired giving experiences.
In alignment with the core responsibilities at PHI to Teach Engage Coordinate Invite and Report this positions responsibilities are aligned as follows:
Teach (15%)
1. Teach the process of philanthropy in the Church to current donors and prospects through communication and marketing collateral for assigned priorities and projects and teach donor liaisons partners and when assigned teach other staff the technical requirements of grant-related communications and applications.
Engage (20%)
2. Engage by creating inspiring and informative communication pieces including compliance with proposals or technical grant proposal requirements that move donors and prospective donors to become engaged with approved priorities create meaningful marketing and communication pieces to integrate givers and receivers of donations made in a personalized and meaningful way.
Coordinate (20%)
3. Coordinate with colleagues partners external organizations approved vendors and Church correlation to ensure all products meet PHI and Church standards as well as exacting application requirements for grant applications.
Invite (30%)
4. Invite by creating meaningful invitations in the form of proposals for approved priorities or grant submissions to assist donor liaisons and institutional partners in facilitating inspiring giving experiences and strengthening relationships with donors and prospective donors.
Report (15%)
5. Report by creating meaningful stewardship and financial reports informing and delighting donors regarding the impact of their giving.
