Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Instructional Facilitator is to provide supplemental support for instructional development/ change management and school level continuous improvement to drive academic achievement of all students particularly in support of closing achievement gaps for underperforming students. The Instructional Specialist will be an instructional expert with proven content expertise in a particular focus area and with diverse student groups including low-income and underperforming students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree required in related field.
- Masters Degree in content or Administration preferred.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements required in core content area (Math).
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years secondary teaching experience required.
- District level content specialist experience preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the districts curriculum and instructional programs scope and sequence and improvement plans.
- Experience with curriculum mapping unit planning and formative progress monitoring.
- Knowledge of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and ability to design appropriate interventions to help close achievement gaps.
- Ability to use multiple data sources to set measurable goals and strategically plan to achieve
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective coaching problem solving and conferencing skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and learning.
- Demonstrated use of best teaching practices.
- Understanding of and ability to research to support teacher development.
- Ability to define problems analyze data and develop action plan as part of a continuous improvement cycle.
- Conduct data disaggregation campus level training.
- Support the campuses and district in ongoing monitoring and improvement planning.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support the work of curriculum and intervention by carrying out supplemental duties aligned to the execution of the District strategic action plan and District and campus continuous improvement plans.
- Ensure alignment to District goals and strategic plans to drive academic improvement for all students by working with school based leadership teams and school administrators.
- Assist in goal setting for students student groups and campuses.
- Analyze student performance data.
- Monitor progress through monitoring tools and report out to appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop and manage record keeping systems that provide accurate and timely information.
- Develop and conduct or arrange for staff development sessions including sessions on delivery of instruction enriched learning and targeted intervention in classroom settings.
- Assist with the effective implementation of the District pacing guides and curriculum scope and sequences.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Willingness to remain current with the latest research/methodology/latest development in the profession at the state federal and local levels.
- Suggest resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing program goals.
- Collaborate with directors and administrators to execute campus and district initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Working Conditions/Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Work with frequent interruptions maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours. Regular district wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned; moderate lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs.
