Applicants applying for position number will also be considered for position number.***Reporting to the Housekeeper Supervisor II this position is responsible for the general cleaning and minor maintenance at the Healthcare Complex at Central Prison servicing multi-custody male offender population. Work is performed under limited supervision guided by a daily schedule for general assignments and specific instruction for special assignments. Job duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Minimizing infestation promoting and teaching sanitary conditions cleanliness removal of harmful organisms and to promote healthy surroundings.
- Working 8-hour shifts to be discussed during the interview process with some weekend rotations.
- Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and keeping record of tools for tool control inventory purposes.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits with established working hours of 1st or 2nd Shiftand may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.As of January 1 2025 there are new increase adjustments to the state pay plan which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission effective January 1 2025. The new salary range will be $31200 - $46991.Note to Current State Employees:The salary grade for this position is NC01(Salary Range: $31200 - $46991). State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as or lower than their current position. If selected for this position a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience funding availability and internal equity. Based upon these factors a pay increase MAY result.About Central Prison Healthcare Complex (CPHC):Central Prison Healthcare Complex (CPHC) is located on the campus of Central Prison in Raleigh NC. Central Prison itself serves as the admission point into prison for adult male felons sentenced to 20 years or more and houses special populations including death row and safe keepers.The primary purpose of CPHC is to provide inpatient treatment for patients using evidenced-based medical practices therapy programs surgical services post-operative care etc. that will enable the offender patients to be returned to their home facility as quickly as possible. CPHC is the main medical and mental health center for male offenders in the state. Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Our division categorizes the institutions into 3 custody levels which include minimum medium and close.
