The Impact of Your Role

As a Finance Business Partner you will play a crucial role in providing financial support and guidance to specific business units within Ipsos. You will be a key point of contact for financial matters working closely with non-finance professionals and helping them understand and manage their budgets and projects. For example you might help a team leader understand the financial implications of a proposed project or guide a project manager in developing a realistic budget. You will also contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation by ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Ipsos UK offers a hybrid working environment which consists of three days in our London offices with the flexibility of working from home for the remainder.

Your Day to Day

These are the types of things you can expect to be doing during your day to day although as Ipsos is a dynamic organisation this may vary as different opportunities arise:

  • Analysing financial data and providing insights to improve business performance.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Leading the production of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Providing financial training and support to non-finance staff.
  • Attending meetings and proactively challenging teams on financial matters.
  • Ensuring the financial integrity of projects.
  • Maintaining up-to-date project forecasts.
  • Reviewing and enhancing current day-to-day working practices.
  • Providing ad-hoc support to the Service Line Finance Director.

Background

These are the areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role.

  • This role requires a strong foundation in finance and accounting principles.
  • Qualified or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working in a commercial business-facing role is highly desirable particularly within the market research or consulting industry.
  • Experience working with non-finance professionals and providing financial training and support.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
