The team that you would be joining at DeLaval is dedicated to creating innovative online services that monitor and maintain equipment such as IoT devices used in modern farming. Through these services we enable farmers to make data-driven decisions and enhance their productivity.
Your responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with development design and project management teams to ensure the product meets both user needs and business goals. Empower the team to make technical decisions while offering guidance on product priorities and objectives.
- Backlog Ownership and Prioritization: Own and prioritize the product backlog ensuring that features and enhancements are aligned with business value and customer needs. Collaborate with the team to refine and break down requirements into actionable user stories.
- Empower Technical Decision-Making: Foster an environment where developers take technical ownership and make decisions on how to implement product features. Provide the context and goals but trust the team to find the best solutions based on their expertise.
- Requirements Definition and Storytelling: Work with stakeholders and project managers to gather insights define clear product requirements and document user stories that are easily understandable and actionable by the development team.
- Decision-Making and Trade-offs: Make data-informed decisions about product features releases and priorities while considering technical feasibility and resource constraints. Balance short-term and long-term goals to maximize impact.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for product-related communication managing expectations and ensuring stakeholders are informed about progress timelines and changes.
- Foster Team Autonomy: Promote a culture of trust and accountability within the team where developers are empowered to make the right technical decisions ensuring they feel supported and aligned with the products vision.
- Iterative Improvement: Gather feedback analyze user data and collaborate with the team to continuously improve the product delivering incremental value and evolving based on real-world insights.
- Visualize and Communicate Progress: Continuously communicate product progress to project managers and key stakeholders. Provide clear and consistent updates using dashboards reports and status meetings to ensure alignment visibility and transparency on timelines risks and achievements. Proactively addressing any blockers or risks and ensuring the team remains focused on delivering high-quality valuable features.
- Validate Features: Validate features developed by the team to ensure they meet the defined product requirements and user needs. This includes reviewing completed features conducting acceptance testing and collaborating with QA to ensure the highest quality standards. Provide feedback to ensure the delivered features align with the product vision and meet business goals.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role with a strong focus on delivering customer-centric products in an agile environment.
- Experience with backlog management prioritization and working closely with development teams to ensure features are delivered efficiently.
- Ability to empower and trust development teams with technical decision-making while providing clear context and direction on product goals and priorities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams balancing product goals with technical constraints and ensuring alignment between business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum Kanban) with a focus on continuous delivery and iterative improvement.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a knack for balancing short-term tactical needs with long-term strategic goals.
- Ability to make decisions based on data and feedback and adjust priorities as needed to maximize product impact.
- Passion for creating great products and working in a collaborative autonomous team culture.
- Experience working in distributed or remote teams.
- Attention to Detail in Validation: Strong attention to detail to review and validate features post-development to ensure they meet the required standards and fulfill the business needs.
Bonus Skills (optional):
- Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and experience collaborating with design teams to enhance the user experience.
- Knowledge of data analytics and using data to inform product decisions.
- Experience in technical product management or working closely with engineering teams on complex product features.
- Understanding of cloud technologies and modern software architectures.

Additional information
This is a full-time permanent position based at DeLavals headquarters in Tumba south of Stockholm. We offer a hybrid workplace model allowing flexibility to work remotely; however employees are expected to be in the office at least three days per week.
