With offices in the U.S. London and Asia Pacific Talbot is the managing agent of Syndicatesand 2478 at Lloyds. Syndicate 1183 underwrites a number of classes of business including war and terrorism energy marine financial lines cyber transport political risk crisis management kidnap & ransom contingency property and treaty reinsurance. Through its expert team of underwriters and a balanced geographically-diverse portfolio of business Talbot has earned a reputation as an industry-leading insurance and reinsurance specialist.
How you will create an impact
- Ensure complete accurate and timely syndicate reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of the quarterly submissions to AIG
- Preparation of Lloyds returns
- Support Lloyds regulatory reporting including QMA QMB Solvency UK RRQ RRA international tax and SITUS reporting as required.
- Maintain and ensure efficient and effective accounting processes:
- SAP general ledger maintenance including quarterly preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Responsible for the processing of automated and non-automated GAAP journals
- Review of ledger reconciliations and schedules prepared by the assistant syndicate accountant
- Assist in the on-going development of syndicate quarterly reporting processes for both US and UK reporting Solvency and Regulatory reporting
- Assist in the coaching and development of the Assistant Syndicate Accountant
What youll need to succeed
- Lloyds market experience essential with a good knowledge of Lloyds accounting and processes
- Advanced Excel skills
- Good knowledge of US UK GAAP and Lloyds regulatory reporting rules
- Good knowledge of financial processes and controls
- Strong communication skills
- Numerate and good analytical skills
- Ability to coach and develop more junior members of the team
