If you enjoy collaborating with stakeholders and leading impactful initiatives this role may be a great fit for you. As the Community Safety Information Liaison you will play a key role in managing relationships and partnerships for the Community Safety Insights (CSI) unit. This includes enhancing collaboration with police services and Government of Alberta ministries and responding to data requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with public and community safety partners to share information and develop joint projects and events. This includes organizing the annual Police Data Workshop and Police Data Working Group and serving as the primary liaison for police data.
- Identify outreach opportunities that support data sharing and the generation of actionable insights.
- Maintain comprehensive stakeholder registries including contacts from law enforcement and other relevant sectors.
- Facilitate meetings and engagement sessions of varying sizes and scopes ensuring effective communication and coordination among stakeholders.
- Develop and manage stakeholder tracking systems to ensure accurate and current contact information and perspectives.
- Contribute to the development of strategic engagement plans that align with the CSI units goals and priorities.
- Address emerging issues by working with stakeholders to analyze concerns recommend actions and synthesize information for effective responses.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the director on stakeholder engagement and relationship management.

Qualifications
Required:
- A University degree (4 years) in relevant area of expertise (Business Social Sciences or Public Policy) plus 2 years related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency:
- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
Job-specific Experience:
- Two or more years of experience in a community safety related area.
- experience developing successful working relationships across a wide array of stakeholders.
Assets:
- General understanding of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. Police Act).
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning skills including ability to develop synthesize articulate and interpret information obtained from varied sources.
- High degree of political acumen and awareness of the political sensitivity of police issues to read and navigate sensitive situations.
