The College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) at Iowa State University is seeking a Student Services Specialist II to coordinate recruitment campus visits and undergraduate scholarship processes. This position plays a vital role in welcoming students to CHHS supporting access to college resources and enhancing the student experience.

What youll do:

Undergraduate recruitment:

  • Collaborate with CHHS departments to ensure all transfer and four-year academic plans are current and accurately published on the transfer portal and college website.

  • Support outreach efforts to youth organizations such as FCCLA FBLA HOSA ProStart 4-H and SSTFI and manage follow-up communications to prospective students.

  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students parents and school counselors with customized resource-rich information.

  • Oversee publications inventory with support from student staff and manage fulfillment of information requests.

  • Coordinate with the Office of Admissions to support CHHS visits to community colleges and other recruitment opportunities.

Campus visits :

  • Serve as the CHHS college lead for daily visit coordination with the Office of Admissions and academic departments through the Experience Iowa State.

  • Assist in planning and executing group and custom campus visits.

  • Meet one-on-one with prospective Health and Human Sciences undecided students.

  • Coordinate risk management procedures related to all college-led campus visits and events.

Undergraduate scholarships:

  • Manage the CHHS scholarship system including updating award amounts troubleshooting access issues and supporting faculty and student users.

  • Oversee the donor thank-you letter process and ensure timely follow-up with scholarship recipients.

This position works collaboratively with departments across the college and the university to support prospective students enhance campus visit experiences and ensure transparent and effective scholarship processes.

  • Position type: Full-time Professional and Scientific

  • Location: On-site at Iowa State University Ames Iowa

  • Residency requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
