The Role

Cash App is seeking a Behavioral Insights Fraud Analyst to join our dynamic Behavioral Insights Team. A Behavioral Insights Fraud Analyst leverages natural analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze large structured and unstructured data sets to identify trends anomalies and inauthentic behaviors across Cash App accounts and products. This position relies on decisions made independently with high precision and attention to detail.

This position will collaborate often with teammates as well as work with many organizations within the business such as Data Science Machine Learning Modeling Engineering Product Business Operations Risk Operations Compliance and more. You will help drive innovation and influence Cash Apps fraud roadmap programs and processes.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional analytical and communication skills. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can balance analytical rigor with operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality in risk management.

Work from anywhere: This role can be performed from any location in the United States.

You Will

  • Develop deep expertise in customer behavior patterns and activity authentication within the Cash App ecosystem
  • Build comprehensive knowledge in scam prevention and account takeover (ATO) risk management understanding their impact on platform security
  • Conduct complex data analysis to resolve business challenges identify opportunities for improvement and provide insights and solutions
  • Apply analytical expertise to assess risk factors within product offerings requiring meticulous attention to detail
  • Partner with internal business teams to identify and confirm emerging fraud trends and potential customer impact due to risk controls both ahead of product launches and in an ongoing capacity
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills through timely and effective responses to internal stakeholders
  • Help drive team projects forward while maintaining accuracy and meeting timelines.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism accountability collaboration speed innovation excellence and a fun work environment while continuously elevating the quality and caliber of our risk controls
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve

You Have

  • 2 years experience in risk and/or fraud detection in financial services or technology space
  • Ability to spot unusual behaviors or trends in transaction and account data
  • Proficient in writing clear and concise documentation of findings with the ability to explain complex issues simply
  • Ability to explain complex issues simply
  • Experience working with teams across countries and time zones
  • Ability to evaluate potential risks and their impact
  • Flexibility to adapt and able to manage multiple assignments while working independently

  • Experience working with machine learning teams
  • Technical or procedural writing experience
