Job Title: Network Architect

Role Description
The Network Security Architect will take into account the HD architecture operating model and organisational culture while selecting and designing appropriate network security solutions. This role is not about defaulting to standard solutions but challenging existing approaches to find the most effective and strategic outcomes.
They will work in alignment with the wider network and security roadmaps ensuring proposed solutions are both efficient and compatible with the larger architectural vision. The Architect is expected to critically assess current needs and future integrations seeking ways to consolidate platforms and streamline delivery.
Example Considerations:

Should NAC be deployed as a unique platform or consolidated with Universal ZTNA

Can tooling simplify micro-segmentation in a hybrid cloud/on-prem and IT/OT setup

Does ZTNA render NAC unnecessary in the corporate environment

Should customer consolidate CAB and SWG under a single SSE provider Can this be aligned with SD-WAN evolution into SASE-or would that lead to excessive change

How can SD-WAN delivery (outside the current programme) be leveraged to enable ZTA capability while addressing SASE-related risks
Key Responsibilities

Act as a member of the internal Security Strategy and Architecture team assigned to delivery programmes.

Research and present solution options in reports.

Develop high-level designs (business-focused) and low-level designs (technology-focused).

Cost proposed solutions.
-
Present and defend designs at governance forums (e.g. Design Authority).
-
Guide delivery teams on implementing the approved designs.
-
Conduct architectural governance to ensure solution delivery aligns with approved design.

Work across multiple projects and report to a Senior Security Architect.
Key Skills / Knowledge / Experience

Strong understanding of network architecture and tooling.

Experience with hybrid cloud networks (on-premises and multi-cloud).
-
Familiarity with OT networks.
-
Experience in macro and micro segmentation design for both on-prem and cloud networks.
-
Design experience in Network Access Control (NAC).
-
Design experience in Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) for both internal and external access.

Expertise in next-generation firewall design.
-
Ideally experience in Operational Technology (OT) network design.
