Theology Teacher (Part-Time or Full-time) 2024-2025 School Year Position Begins August 2025 JOB TITLE: Theology Teacher REPORTS TO/EVALUATED BY: Chair of Theology Department; Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time (5 classes) or Part-Time (4 Classes) SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Theology Teacher likely 9th and 12th grade ABOUT NOTRE DAME CRISTO REY HIGH SCHOOL (NDCR) : Established in Lawrence MA in 2004 NDCR is a private Catholic college preparatory high school currently based in Methuen Massachusetts serving 300 economically disadvantaged youth. NDCR is part of the Cristo Rey Network a growing association of 40 schools across the United States whose education model is built around the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) a unique and highly successful partnership with the business community. Through the CWSP each of our scholars works five full days per month during the academic year at one of 75 companies throughout the Merrimack Valley I-93/495 corridors and southern New Hampshire. OUR MISSION AND VISION: In the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School provides a Catholic affordable culturally sensitive college preparatory education enhanced by professional work experience for young women and men from families with limited income. NDCR is known for graduating confident academically and professionally successful students who are spiritually rooted intellectually curious active community and global citizens prepared to become college graduated leaders who contribute to an equitable workforce. OUR CORE VALUES: Goodness of God Education for Life Integrity Respect Family Community RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach Theology courses dependent on applicants background but likely courses include four sections of Faith and Hebrew Scriptures (Old/New Testament) to 9th grade; full-time position would also include 1 section of Catholic Social Teaching for 12th grade. Use developmentally and behaviorally age-appropriate tools materials activities Maintain all pertinent records in PowerSchool Create a safe purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students Design and create appropriate lesson plans. Implement the Theology Curriculum aligned with the Cristo Rey Standards and USCCB framework Collaborate with other teachers instructional leaders and partners to ensure instruction is meeting the needs of all students Assess students regularly analyze data and determine appropriate next steps for instruction Build relationships and communicate regularly with students and their families to solicit input and share academic progress MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Teachers must possess: Bachelors degree in theology campus ministry or a related field masters degree preferred Must be a practicing Catholic Experience teaching in a Catholic high school strongly preferred Willingness to promote the vision and values of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Knowledgeable sensitive and inclusive of all cultures in particular those served by NDCR Ability to speak Spanish a plus If interested please send a thoughtful cover letter and resume to our Human Resources Department at
