Job Description
Location: Washington DC metro area (Hybrid)
Clearance Required: Public Trust Minimum (US Citizen)
Employment Type: Full-Time (W-2 or 1099)
Overview: Praescient Analytics is actively seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to supporta current contract with the Department of Justice. This individual will be responsible for designing implementing and managing cloud computing solutions within AWS environments to support our clients mission-critical operations. This role includes the development of cloud architecture blueprints ensuring compliance with federal security and governance requirements (e.g. FedRAMP) and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable resilient and secure cloud infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers in a multi-account and complex network environment to deliver services maintain and modernize infrastructure and troubleshoot issues.
- Drive cloud migration initiatives by providing technical expertise and strategic guidance to customers.
- Offer recommendations on AWS service selection cost optimization and cloud-native architecture best practices.
- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation.
- Ensure architectures are aligned with federal frameworks including Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) TIC 3.0 and DOJ-specific policies.
- Support development of cloud security documentation including Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages and continuous monitoring strategies.
- Contribute to the deployment of AI cloud platforms such as Amazon BedRock Azure OpenAI Lex Comprehend and other Large Language Model (LLM) or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Masters Degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 10 years of IT experience including 5 years focused on AWS cloud architecture.
- Strong scripting and troubleshooting skills in Python Bash or PowerShell.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
- Demonstrated experience with federal government IT projects and knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (e.g. FedRAMP).
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing evaluated Zero Trust Architectures (ZTA).
- Direct experience with AI/ML platforms and integration of LLMs and RAG capabilities in cloud environments.
- Certifications: AWS-based certifications preferred (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
