Job Description
Lifesteps is hiring a Full-Time Public Relations Representative in the Butler area.
Lifesteps is a non-profit human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by helping individuals and families with lifes changing needs. The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. Position Summary:
The Public Relations Representative plays an important role in fundraising and public relations by working to strengthen donor relationships and achieve the organizations annually established fundraising goals.
The Public Relations Representative will assist with coordinating special events and fundraisers including planning logistics and outreach to current and prospect donors to secure funds to support the Agency. The position also works to maintain the donor files through a database generate reports create and process donation acknowledgements and thank you letters public relations media engagement and other projects as assigned.
In addition the Public Relations Representative will help share Lifesteps mission by representing the Agency at events and engage staff and donors. This includes assisting with volunteer engagement expo/fair coordination and Agency history and photography as needed.
This Full-Time position works a Monday - Friday schedule of 8am to 4:30pm with occasional weekend and evening work.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma with 2 years of non-profit development sales communication or public relations experience- Advanced computer skills with expertise using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word and Excel)
- Excellent verbal communication and in writing editing proofreading
- Must have valid Drivers License and proof of auto insurance
Preferred:
- Associate degree (preferably in public relations marketing communications journalism or a similar major) with one year experience
- Bachelors degree (preferably in public relations marketing communications journalism or a similar major)
