What You Will Do:

Hot Section Module Center is hiring New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineers to work with our CIPT teams as we prepare for advanced military and commercial development programs.

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in a high technology advanced program environment incorporating the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools. They will partner with engineering operations and suppliers to evaluate the most efficient and cost-effective part and process design. The ideal candidate will develop manufacturing process alternatives based on improved manufacturability and producibility. Primary location in East Hartford CT and up to 10% travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Mfg Readiness Level (MRL) progression of new products by identifying risks/opportunities and developing and completing mitigation plans
  • Provide technical support to the inspection and manufacturing communities
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and hardware to determine compliance to applicable requirements
  • Support day to day manufacturing activities such as review and approval of work instructions process authorization requests(PAR) and first article inspections (FAI).
  • Perform technology and process development tasks; including first piece runs measurement system analysis and capability assessments
  • Implementation of lean process improvements activities to meet schedule and cost targets

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or other related Bachelors degree
  • 2 years of engineering experience
  • CAD experience is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a group setting and interface directly with shop floor operators and inspection personnel
  • Knowledge / experience with quality systems and standards such as AS9100.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • High level of proficiency in the application of continuous improvement tools: Process Certification Value Stream Mapping Standard Work PFMEA Six Sigma and/or Red-X.
  • Experience in quality engineering with an understanding of approving work instructions and First Article Inspections
  • Familiarity with inspection tooling and techniques

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects programs

or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior

relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
