Job Summary
Performs overall General Ledger account reconciliation. Enforces adherence to School Board policies procedures and compliance requirements.
Essential Functions
1. Processes posts and balances data received from Payroll Department
2. Coordinates and trains assigned staff regarding payroll accounting and third party payment remittances.
3. Monitors daily processing of high volume payroll.
4. Analyzes and reconciles payroll suspense and negative expenditure payroll and benefits accounts.
5. Processes payroll adjustments and balances General Ledger account.

7. Analyzes overtime reports and prepares adjustments to cost centers.
8. Reconciles bi-weekly payroll remittances to the IRS prior to payments. Analyzes IRS 941 quarterly report and reconciles against the General Ledger.

10. Perform general accounting analysis journal entries and reconciliations
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Business Education from an accredited college or university (with an emphasis in the areas of accounting risk management or insurance).
Experience: Experience and training in account reconciliation and auditing procedures related to an insurance program; workers compensation preferred. Experience in public schools and/or government administration preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of payroll expense and liability accounting practices principles and policies
Knowledge of payroll deductions garnishments federal and state student loans and private garnishments
Knowledge of governmental accounting public school administration and risk management
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Accounting Standards
Strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong word processing and spreadsheet software skills
Strong payroll liability account reconciliation skills
Ability to determine source of General Ledger payroll account discrepancies and potential solutions
