Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our dynamic Materials Team responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide range of components materials and services in support of manufacturing and engineering operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive procurement expertise a technical understanding of materials and components and a strategic approach to sourcing and vendor management. This role is integral to ensuring timely cost-effective and high-quality supply to meet operational objectives.
Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire materials in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Obtain materials components equipment and services from qualified suppliers ensuring alignment with technical requirements and production schedules.
Develop and maintain technical understanding of products and systems purchased; interpret prints schematics CAD files drawings and e-files.
Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities and materials.
Monitor the cost schedule and scope of assigned purchases and subcontracts to ensure highest quality at optimal value.
Identify and develop new supply sources where existing vendors are inadequate or limited.
Recommend and implement cost-saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis alternative sourcing strategies and vendor evaluation criteria.
Evaluate supplier performance and manage vendor relationships to ensure continuous improvement and reliable supply.
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex procurement and production challenges using creative data-driven approaches.
Possesses wide-ranging procurement experience and uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex sourcing and supply challenges.
Demonstrates a strong ability to analyze complex situations make informed decisions and apply judgment within broadly defined practices and policies.
Proven track record of success in managing technical procurement activities particularly in the electrical and/or manufacturing sectors.
Experience in ordering machined and sheet metal parts using various technical documentation formats.
Minimum of 8 years of related procurement experience preferably in a manufacturing or electrical environment.
Proven ability to work independently on complex assignments and determine methods and procedures for new procurement initiatives.
Strong technical literacy and understanding of engineering documentation.
Excellent communication negotiation and analytical skills.
Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.

The annual salary range for this position is $125000 to $135000.
