This position is located in the Adult Services/ACA Compliance Division of Prison Operations.

This Administrative Program Specialist C is responsible for screening eligible inmates for placement in TWP facilities around the state as well as recommending them for program participation. In addition to screening duties this position also conducts routine inspections and compliance checks of its assigned TWP facilities statewide. These inspections are necessary to ensure proper operation regulatory compliance and safety standards.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

  • Using Data:The ability to use relevant and valid data to inform a recommendation for action.



Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR

A bachelors degree plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR

An advanced degree plus one year of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
  • Screening inmates for TWP placement - requires assessing multiple eligibility factors (criminal history behavior program suitability etc.) and making informed decisions.
  • Compliance monitoring - Inspections demand a strong eye for detail to identify safety issues procedural lapses or non-compliance with regulations. Oversight must be accurate and thorough.
  • Communication - This role requires coordination with correctional staff facility administrators etc. Clear and respectful communication ensures cooperation and successful program implementation.

  • Experience with the following software/databases is highly recommended: Microsoft Office CAJUN Oracle NCIC LLETS PowerDMS
  • This position will mainly work independently on day-to-day tasks but will occasionally coordinate with other members of the team for various work activities.


Exams and License Requirements

  • No Civil Service Test Score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
  • Any degree certificate special license or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire.
  • Any qualifying experience that is based on college credit/college hours should have an accompanying transcript for verification.
