Accountable for the Crude Oil Supply Team and managing all trading activities by devising the most efficient and economical crude purchasing strategies; lead the Crude Oil Team in Trading Compliance compliance of Dodd Frank and Sarbanes-Oxley rules and the compliance and execution of competition laws anti- bribery and corruption laws and anti-trust laws; participate in relevant joint ventures mergers and acquisition initiatives as necessary; applying knowledge of Canadian Energy Regulator rules Federal Energy Regulatory Commission rules and both agencies Joint-International tariff structures to lead the teams understanding of tariff and transportation cost of service models; direct company tariff legal challenges on Canadian U.S. and Joint International tariffs including jurisdiction determination; represent company interests on all Canadian U.S. and International pipeline Shipper Committees settlement conferences and agreements and proposed rule-making groups; identify projects and opportunities for the TransMountain Pipeline and the TransMountain Express Pipeline by utilizing understanding of pipelines characteristics and rules; devise strategies to optimize pipeline allocation rules apportionment rules pipeline nomination verification procedures shipper make-up rights deficiency payments and penalties; negotiate contracts and agreements for transportation purchase sale and exchange of crude oil natural gas intermediates and finished products in both Canada and the U.S.; negotiate pipeline agreements and develop contracting strategies to enable cost effective egress from Western Canadian crude oil production to all HollyFrontier Corporation refineries; manage origination and business development activities in North America including the development of crude oil transportation contracts and agreements; act as the company officer in contract disputes disagreements and interpretation issues for the trade and transport of petroleum products.

Ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation in each of the following: working in the crude oil and refining supply and industry; tracking pipeline flows from Western Canadian Basin Rockies through Mid-Con to the U.S. Gulf Coast; tracking crude oil flows from the Permian basin and around Cushing Trading Hub; driving growth in revenue and earnings through geographic market and capacity expansion; reviewing portfolios and assessing strategies for asset optimization; and performing business model readjustments. Must have two (2) years of management experience including hiring developing and retaining high performing individuals.
Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Legal Studies Law Business Administration or closely related field .
Responsible for the management of a group of professional level direct and indirect reports.
Requires up to 20% domestic and international travel to various unanticipated locations.
