Emergency Services Clinician
Location: 241 Greenhouse Road Lexington VA
Employer: Rockbridge Area Community Services (RACS)
ROCKBRIDGE AREA COMMUNITY SERVICES RACS is currently seeking a motivated qualified individual to work in our coverage area of Rockbridge and Bath County and the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista. RACS will provide training supervision and education opportunities specific to the position.

Position Overview:
To provide crisis intervention services for individuals and families experiencing mental health and substance abuse crises. Essential functions of the position include completing pre-admission screening facilitate hospital admissions and discharges provide crisis intervention and crisis counseling as needed provide motivational therapy or DBT modalities to individuals and families in crisis attend commitment hearings and assist with hospital discharge plans with clients. This position is Monday-Friday 3:00pm-12:00am with opportunities for on-call shifts and clinical supervision toward licensure.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in human services related field
- Experience providing mental health and/or substance abuse services
- Licensed or licensed eligible in VA as a LPC LCSW or LCP
- The ability to function in a high paced and time pressured environment is necessary
- Excellent communication skills required
- Working knowledge of the DSM mental health and substance use assessments treatment crisis assessment and intervention strategies for clients of all ages
- Must be certified or eligible to be certified as a pre-screener by the CSB and Virginia DBHDS.
Background Investigation Requirements: All applicants are subject to a background investigation. Investigations may include fingerprint checks (State Police); local agency checks; employment verification; verification of education (relevant to employment); and other checks based on the position.
Probationary Period: All persons that are newly hired rehired transferred promoted or demoted into a Rockbridge Area Community Services position must serve a new 6-month probationary period.
