Curriculum Coordinator II (SAE Coordinator Team Lead)
This position will be responsible for the planning development implementation and follow-through of all education efforts put forth by the Fam Department. This position will be responsible for maintaining working relationships with all associated teaching staff and integrating real-life situational learning into the developed curricula. This employee will also be responsible for the oversight and implementation of Work Based Learning and Internship opportunities that are available to students. This position may require the following at times: strenuous labor working with livestock and unpredictable situations environmental extremes and working in all types of weather coordination of large groups public speaking strategic thinking and overnight travel. This position will work with students during the day and after school to work on their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects that must be completed by all students. This employee will also work with students participating in on campus internships and working with the farm department. This position will be the team lead for another position that was recently filled.


Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate plan and facilitate Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE) projects during the after-school time and plan and facilitate Work Based Learning (WBL) projects. This includes serving as the team lead and coordinating with the other SAE coordinator.
  • Ensure all agency and student owned animals are properly cared for on a daily basis including but not limited to basic care feeding watering veterinary services living conditions barn/facility maintenance and cleaning of barn/facilities
  • Supervise and chaperone students as they care for animals and transport students.
  • Work with farm staff to maintain animal records.
  • Work with department supervisor AG Teachers and school Principal to integrate hands on learning and research into new and existing programs.
  • Coordinate with department supervisor on a weekly basis on program progress and give updates.
  • Make recommendations to department supervisor and AG Teachers related to program progress.
  • Work with Outreach department to facilitate successful summer programs and adult education programs.
  • Schedule create and coordinate weekly labs with appropriate AG Teachers and execute labs.
  • Facilitate outreach opportunities for students in collaboration with all AG Programs.
  • Serve as the swine herdsman for the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Masters degree or experience equivalent in an Agriculturally related field a valid drivers license and agricultural experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Employee must have working knowledge of farm related activities.
  • Employee must be able to work with livestock of all species and varieties.
  • Employee must have Knowledge of forages row crops horticultural products machine and equipment relevant to farm based production are required.
  • This position may require the following at times: strenuous labor working with livestock and unpredictable situations environmental extremes and working in all types of weather coordination of large groups public speaking strategic thinking and overnight travel.
  • Employee must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Employee will be required to work with all campus animals and have agricultural knowledge of appropriate practices.
  • Employee must be an effective communicator be detail oriented be data driven and willing to work with all stakeholders.
  • Employee must work with all students.
