Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Calgary AB Full-Time On-Site Salary: $80k-$120k (based on experience)
About the Opportunity:
Were working with a well-established building engineering consultancy in Calgary that is actively seeking a Intermediate/Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This firm is known for its collaborative culture award-winning project portfolio and focus on high-performance building systems across a range of sectors including commercial institutional healthcare and mixed-use developments.
This is a fully on-site role ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with their team contributing to technically complex projects and mentoring junior designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design for new construction renovation and retrofit projects across a variety of sectors
- Develop detailed electrical drawings specifications and reports using AutoCAD and Revit
- Perform lighting calculations power distribution layouts and low-voltage system design
- Ensure designs are code-compliant and aligned with project requirements and timelines
- Attend client meetings and site visits; act as a key technical contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to a collaborative knowledge-sharing environment
Qualifications
- 3-8 years of electrical design experience in the building consulting industry
- . or EIT designation in Alberta
- Proficient in AutoCAD Revit and lighting/power calculation tools
- Strong understanding of OESC CEC Alberta and National Building Code and related electrical standards
- Excellent communication skills and experience with client-facing responsibilities
- Previous experience with LEED projects smart building systems or sustainability-focused design is an asset
