As the Mechanical Design Engineer you will play a critical role in the design development and optimization of mechanical systems and downhole tools. Your responsibilities will include:
Design & Development:
o Create and refine mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks).
o Ensure designs meet functional reliability and manufacturability requirements while adhering to industry standards.
Prototyping & Testing:
o Support prototyping efforts by producing detailed drawings and specifications.
o Collaborate with testing teams to validate designs under simulated field conditions and analyze performance data.
Collaboration & Documentation:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing supply chain and field operations to ensure successful implementation of designs.
o Maintain accurate documentation of design iterations test results and engineering changes.
Continuous Improvement:
o Identify design optimization opportunities and contribute to product evolution through performance reviews and customer feedback.
o Support root cause analysis and implement design changes to improve product reliability and efficiency.
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:
Education & Experience:
o A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
o 45 years of experience in mechanical design preferably in the oil & gas manufacturing or industrial equipment sectors.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in 3D CAD design (e.g. SolidWorks) FEA tools and drafting standards.
o Familiarity with downhole tool design or high-pressure mechanical systems is a strong asset.
Key Competencies:
o Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
o Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation capabilities.
o A proactive hands-on mindset with the ability to take initiative and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
